Eight teenage Philly Youth Football Players Arrested Recently in Florida – all just 14 or 15 years old – from the United Thoroughbreds youth team in Philly got themselves into a whole heap of trouble in Florida.
The eight teens were pinched for allegedly nicking $2200 worth of gear from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store.
What’s even crazier is the arrest came just hours before they were due to play in their championship game – a day they ended up losing 26-6 and spent behind bars instead.

December 6, 2025 at 10:55 a.m. The gang of teens decided to hit the Dick’s Sporting Goods at Posner Plaza in Davenport, Florida – while they were in town for a national tournament.
According to the surveillance footage and investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the eight teens broke into two groups.
One kid made a proper purchase at the till to get a bag. Meanwhile the others just kinda wandered the aisles. When they all got back together they started shoving loads of stuff – like hoodies, joggers & football gear – into a bag and a ruck sack.
After allegedly stuffing 47 items worth $2296 into the bag, three of the kids tried to leg it out the door with the bag and ruck sack. But the deputies who’d been called in by store management were waiting outside and pinched them. The other five got arrested in store.
The items they nicked included hoodies, joggers, beanies, football gloves and all the rest.

- The eight kids are facing serious charges of Felony Retail Theft over $750 and Conspiracy to Commit Retail Theft under Florida law.
- They got hauled off to a Juvenile Assessment Centre and put in the lock-up. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office
- Because of the arrest, none of the kids got to play in their championship game – and the team went down 26-6 to their opponents.
